FENTANYL ANGELS is a new initiative of The Madden Institute providing partial scholarships for detox and rehab to individuals seeking treatment for addiction to the deadly drug Fentanyl. More and more, toxicology screens of drug addicts looking for the presence of heroin are not only finding traces of Fentanyl used to cut the heroin, but some are revealing the presence of no heroin whatsoever, and the presence of only Fentanyl. Indeed, up and down the East Coast of the United States it’s getting more and more difficult to find any heroin at all. This strata of the opioid crisis has morphed from a heroin crisis, to a heroin-Fentanyl crisis, to a full fledged Fentanyl crisis. In addition to its support of independent artists, musicians and writers, The Madden Institute has a strong recovery mandate, supporting recovering alcoholics and addicts as well as people struggling with mental illness, incarceration, domestic violence and sexual trauma. For the rest of 2019 and 2020 we have decided to put a special emphasis on our FENTANYL ANGELS initiative. We will be helping people who would otherwise not be able to pay for detox and/or rehab get some support toward this goal as best we can.
