Morning Edition: Ambrose Lightship

img_20190623_103949Some more history on Josh Kennedy’s solo album. Kennedy had made a name for himself as one of the guitarists and songwriters for the Indiana band Philpot, a group with a sound as big as a 747 taking off from O’Hare Airport. Big sound not withstanding, the group had sprouted from a flower shop in the town of Dugger, Indiana (pop. 755.), and caught national attention while performing a show in New York City for Macaulay (Home Alone) Culkin’s birthday party. Kennedy made three albums with the group, (the last for Universal), and when it came time to release his solo work, he insisted it be issued on white vinyl.
